HOUSTON –- Police said a driver was killed when his truck hit a pole along the Gulf Freeway frontage road late Monday.
The 60-year-old man was traveling southbound near Monroe Road when the crash occurred, Houston police said.
The man’s truck slammed into a pole shortly before midnight, critically injuring him. He died on the way to the hospital.
It’s not known what caused the man to lose control of his pickup, but his girlfriend told police that he suffered from high blood pressure and, in the past, had passed out while driving.
There were no other passengers nor vehicles involved in the crash.
