Man hospitalized after struck by hit-and-run driver in northwest Harris County

HOUSTON — Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene after slamming into a vehicle at an intersection in northwest Harris County late Monday.

Precinct 5 deputy constables said a black vehicle was traveling northbound on N. Eldridge Parkway around 10 p.m. when the driver slammed into the back of a man stopped at a red light at the Hampton Falls intersection.

The striking vehicle fled the scene while the other car ran into a ditch on the side of road. The driver who was hit was pinned inside his vehicle until being extracted by Cy-Fair Heavy Rescue. He was then transported to the hospital in serious, but stable condition.
