HOUSTON – A man died after being run over by a dump truck in north Houston on Wednesday.
Police said Joe Gamez, an independent dump truck operator, and another man were working in a private dirt fill near the intersection of Duoto and West Tidwell around 12:30 p.m.
When one of the trucks got stuck in the mud, Gamez walked behind it and told the other driver to back up the vehicle. As the dump truck reversed, Gamez, 57, was struck before he could move. He died at the scene.
Officials said the truck was owned by Antonio Segovia Trucking.
No charges have been filed, but authorities continue to investigate.
