HOUSTON – A man who was injured after he fell out of the back of a pickup truck on the Gulf Freeway was trying to hold down furniture in the truck’s bed, police said.
It happened in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Scarsdale around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said some of the furniture shifted while the truck went down the freeway, and the man slipped and fell out. He suffered serious injuries from the fall and was sent to the hospital.
The driver of a car behind the truck slammed on his brakes to avoid hitting the man, which then caused a Dodge Charger to slam into the back of him. There were no injuries in that accident.
