HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – One person died and two others, including a child, were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision on Barker Cypress late Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said it was around 8 p.m. when two pickup trucks collided head-on near Tuckerton.
Investigators sad a dad driving with his 10-year-old son lost control of his Ford F-150 and went into the northbound lanes, hitting a Ford Ranger head-on. The driver of the Ranger died at the scene while the dad and his son were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A second crash involved three vehicles that were trying to avoid the first crash deputies said. It was unknown if there were any injuries in the second crash.
Barker Cypress was closed for several hours while deputies investigated.
