HOUSTON – A 41-year-old-man is accused of sexually assaulting an elderly woman in her apartment on Aug. 8, according to the Houston Police Department.
Wesley Bernard Gordon is charged with aggravated sexual assault of an elderly woman or disabled person, according to police records. Bail has not been set in the case.
The victim told police that she returned to her apartment on the day of the assault and made her way to her dining room to make out her bills, according to a police affidavit.
She said that a man grabbed her from behind and dragged her to the bedroom. The man punched her in the face to get her to stop screaming, the affidavit states.
The man then stole a coin jar and piggy bank from her bathroom and bedroom, the affidavit states.
Then he tied up the victim and proceeded to sexually assault her, the document states. Afterward, he stole her money and purse and left the apartment.
The victim then called police and went to a local hospital to have a sexual assault forensic examination kit administered, the affidavit states.
The Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab identified Gordon as a DNA match with the evidence submitted from the kit.
