HOUSTON -- Police said a man arrested following a lengthy chase from the westside of town to the northside indicated to officers he ran because was having a "bad day."
According to officers with the Houston Police Department, a state trooper tried to stop an SUV for speeding on the Katy Freeway near Highway 6, but the driver refused to pull over.
Police said he went toward downtown where he got on Interstate 45 northbound. Eventually officers used spikes to bring the suspect to a stop near Blue Bell. Police said all four of the vehicle's tires went flat, and it slid into a grassy area.
The suspect was sent to the hospital for a bite from a police dog.
According to HPD, the man said he ran because he was having a "bad day" following an argument with his wife and other family members.
