HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- The driver of a sport utility vehicle was sent to the hospital by Life Flight after being trapped in the SUV following an accident, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 2 a.m. on Jones just before Cypress N. Houston. The Chevrolet Tahoe left the roadway and crossed a sidewalk before hitting the pole.
Firefighters with the Cypress Creek Volunteer Fire Department had to cut into the vehicle to free the driver. He was sent to the hospital in critical condition.
The sheriff’s office said an investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing.
