HOUSTON—Parents in a northwest Houston neighborhood were on watch after a man allegedly exposed himself to children.

One mother, who did not want to be identified, said it started a few weeks ago, but that the children only recently spoke up.

They live in a gated community near the 9700 block of West Montgomery. The incidents allegedly took place while the kids were walking to a bus stop.

Last week, an 11-year-old girl told her mother the man grabbed her when there were no kids around. She ran off, and said the stranger had exposed himself by the time she looked back.

Parents started asking questions and heard he had done similar things to both boys and girls.

“Every last one of those kids had the same description,” the mother said.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect is 24-year-old Travis Earl Campbell. He has been charged with indecency to a child, but he has not been caught.

According to a relative, Campbell had been staying just a few streets from the kids’ stop.

Records reveal he has a previous conviction for robbery. He was also charged with rape, but the case was dismissed.

Parents said they were talking to their kids about what happened. It was unclear if others were touched.
