HOUSTON -- Police are searching for a man who broke into a woman's home and fell asleep early Tuesday morning.
The victim, who lives on Fulton Street in North Houston, said the intruder also helped himself to a snack in her kitchen.
After she confronted him, the man ran out the back door and tried to break into another home around the corner. That homeowner heard him break in and confronted him in his garage.
"I had my gun pointed at him and he said, 'don't shoot me, don't shoot me, I just wanted a place to sleep,'" said Bennie DeMarco.
The man then ran off. DeMarco said he fired off a few warning shots as the guy fled. He did not hit him.
"I don't think he's going to come back," said DeMarco.
Residents around the area said they've had several recent break-ins. They said they believe the man could be homeless and or on drugs.
