HOUSTON – Madison High School administrators are asking students to be watchful after a girl reported being abducted on her way to school Tuesday morning.

A stranger grabbed the girl as she was walking to school, forced her into his car and took her to a location where he attempted to assault her, Principal Sonya Williams said via a phone message to parents and students.

She said the student was able to escape and run to school where staff members called the girl’s parents, who contacted authorities.

Williams said a suspect has been identified and an investigation is underway.

“Extra officers have been assigned to the area, but I want to remind everyone to be extremely careful when walking to and from school,” Williams told students.
