HOUSTON—Houston police are hoping that a suspect who was shot by a liquor store owner Friday will turn up at a hospital.

The suspect was caught breaking into the Neighborhood Liquor Mart, located on Airline and Calvalcade, around 6:30 a.m.

After the alarm went off, the owner caught the suspect breaking in through a crawl space on the floor and opened fire.

After being hit by thieves not once, but twice, the store owner wasn’t going to take it anymore.

The suspect was hit, but still managed to get away while leaving a trail of blood behind him.

K-9 units were brought out and the suspect’s trail ended at a laundry room at a nearby apartment complex. They found his blood-stained clothes, but the suspect was nowhere in sight.
