HOUSTON – Life Flight was called Monday after a small plane ran into a hangar located north of FM 362 in Waller County.

The accident happened just after 11 a.m. when Clifford Roberson experienced some type of malfunction as he took off from Sport Flyers Airport.

"He lifted the tail, he took off, and immediately the right wing lifted off, and he flew into the hangar across from me," a witness said.

Aerial views from Air 11 indicated an ambulance and Texas State Troopers also responded to the scene.

The pilot was flown to the hospital, but he was alert and talking after the crash. He is being treated for a broken leg and chest trauma caused by the seatbelt.

No one else was in the plane and no one in the hangar was hurt.
