HOUSTON -- Fire up the grill in the backyard or head to the beach because, although there is a slight chance for showers today, it should not ruin any planned Labor Day activities, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.
“Before noon today, there is less than a 10-percent chance that you could see a stray shower. Most of this is all going to remain north and northwest of us,” Johnson said.
Rain chances increase to 20- to 30-percent later on, but Johnson said it should not be enough to cause us to cancel any plans.
Temperature-wise, Monday kicked off with lows in the 80s and highs are expected to top off in the mid-to upper-90s, but the heat index will make it feel like it is at least five degrees warmer. The number one thing to remember in this case is to stay hydrated --- and enjoy your day off!
