HOUSTON – A judge ruled Tuesday that a former Memorial Middle School teacher who is accused of having sex with a student must stay in jail.

Bond was revoked for Kathryn Murray last month after investigators said they caught her with the same boy.  Investigators said he was found at her home after running away.

The boy’s mother said Murray should never have been given bond in the first place.

“I am pleased with the decision, she is where she needs to be right now, that way our son is safe right now,” she said.

When asked how her son was doing she said, “Not good at all.”
