HOUSTON – A traffic stop on U.S. 59 produced more than just a speeding ticket last week. Officers said they found 4.5 pounds of crystal meth in a 37-year-old Houston man’s car.

It happened when members of the Fort Bend County Narcotics Task Force were conducting "highway interdiction" along 59 on August 2, 2012.

Investigators said one of the officers spotted the man driving suspiciously near Cottonwood Church Road in the Rosenberg area.

The officer pulled the car over, and he and his K-9 partner searched the vehicle and the driver, later identified as Marcelo Lucio.

The officer and the dog found the drugs in the car, investigators said.

Lucio was arrested at the scene and charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

He remained in the Fort Bend County Jail Monday on $50,000 bond.

Investigators said the meth would have been worth about $200,000 on the street.
