HOUSTON—Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of stealing $1,400 from a Houston-area Walmart.
Investigators believe the man could be responsible for similar thefts at other Houston retailers, as well as stores in League City and Kemah.
According to investigators, the latest theft occurred on January 13 at a Walmart in the 3500 block of State Highway 6.
The suspect reportedly walked into the store, picked out a magazine and paid with a large bill.
During the transaction, investigators said the suspect was able to confuse the Walmart employee by exchanging bills. It wasn’t until later that the employee realized the suspect had gotten away with $1,400.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set man between 30 and 40 years old.
His image was captured by surveillance cameras at the Walmart.
