HOUSTON—A husband and wife were attacked Tuesday morning in a west Harris County home invasion.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. on Palton Springs Drive. Three armed men stormed in through the garage door, put a bag over the wife’s head and shot the woman’s husband twice.

“I heard from my room what sounded like a cap gun shot,” said Joseph Paz, a neighbor.

By the time deputies arrived at the scene, a family member had already taken the couple to a hospital. Deputies said the husband has non-life threatening injuries.

Now investigators are trying to figure out if the gunmen were after the family’s money or something else.

Neighbors had nothing but good things to say about the family.

“I would see them playing with the basketball, soccer, playing around in the cul-de-sac,” said Paz.

Another neighbor described the family as quiet and friendly.

“I’m just appalled that something like this would happen so close to me,” the neighbor said.
