HUMBLE, Texas – A woman faces a charge of endangering a child after police said she left her two children unattended in a car Saturday.

Nicole Kunschick is charged with endangering a child, police said.

According to the Humble Police Department, officers were sent to the parking lot at the Target store located in the 20700 block of Interstate 59. When police arrived, they found a vehicle running with two children inside.

The children had been left in the vehicle for 30 minutes, police said.

Police spoke with the 10-year-old boy in the vehicle who gave the officers his mother’s phone number.

Police then contacted Kunschick, the mother of the children, who then returned to her vehicle. Kunschick said that both the boy and the 9-month-old infant were hers.

Police said that since neither child was at least 14 years old, the mother acted recklessly for leaving her children by themselves.
