HOUSTON -- Police say a woman woke up to the sound of burglars in her south Houston townhome early Thursday.
Houston police responded to Calumet Street near the South Freeway around 4:45 a.m.
Police said an unknown number of suspects broke into a three-story townhome and started taking several items, including a flat screen TV and a laptop.
The woman who lives in the home told officers she woke up and found one of the burglars standing in her bedroom. The man then ran and fled the home, taking some of the items.
Investigators believe, because of the number of items taken, the suspect who got away was not alone.
The woman was not injured.
