SUMMIT COUNTY, Col. – A Houston teenager died Friday after a skiing accident at the Copper Mountain Resort, 75 miles west of Denver.
Tristan Bartlett, 13, died from injuries he sustained when he struck a tree Friday afternoon on the resort’s beginner trail, Vein Glory.
The Copper Mountain Ski Patrol responded to the incident just before 1 p.m. and provided first aid before transporting Bartlett to Saint Anthony’s Copper Mountain Medical Clinic.
The teen was pronounced dead at 1:30 p.m. Responders said Bartlett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.
