HOUSTON -- HPD officers will be meeting with customers at a Houston grocery retailer as part of a holiday shopping safety campaign, "Safe Shopping Starts With YOU."
Officers will meet and interact with shoppers at the HEB store located at 5225 Buffalo Speedway between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on November 23.
The officers will be distributing theft reduction report cards on customers’ windshields, giving them a pass or fail grade as to whether they leave vehicle doors unlocked, windows opened or cracked and if packages or valuables are in plain view. Those same officers will also pass out shopping safety fliers to customers.
HPD has partnered with HEB, Kroger, Randalls, Fiesta and Wal Mart to form the Greater-Houston Loss prevention Alliance aimed at reducing property crimes, keeping shoppers safer and lessening their chances of becoming victims.
