HOUSTON – A Houston mother was arrested Sunday after leaving her sleeping baby in a car in a mall parking lot, according to Houston police.
Forrescee Markey Owens, 28, was charged with endangering a child.
A passerby called police after noticing the baby alone in a car at Almeda Mall around 1 p.m. The mother was returning to her car with packages in her hand by the time police arrived to the scene.
She told them she didn’t want to disturb the sleeping baby while she ran inside to make her purchases, according to court documents.
Police took her into custody and her bond was set at $2,000.
