HOUSTON – A 20-year-old Houston man is facing charges after investigators say he posted nude photos of his ex-girlfriend on a phony Craigslist Personals profile.
Tanner Taylor is charged with online impersonation.
According to court documents, the 31-year-old victim’s ex-husband notified her on June 18, 2012, that there was a profile under her name on Craigslist Personals that featured nude photos.
The victim said Taylor, whom she dated from December 2011 to April 2012, was the only person who had copies of the nude photos, and that she did not give him permission to post them anywhere.
Investigators subpoenaed Craigslist for information on the person who posted the profile, and they said the email address matched the one Taylor had used to make other profiles on the site.
When investigators interviewed Taylor, they said he admitted to creating the profile of the victim, because he was trying to get in contact with her. He said she’d left him with bills and an apartment to pay for.
Taylor told police that he posted a topless picture to the profile, but claimed he took it down a few days later.
Charges were filed against him on July 24, 2012.
