High-rise fire
HOUSTON — Hundreds of people were evacuated from a southwest Houston office building Monday morning when a fire sent smoke throughout the building.
It started around 10 a.m. in the 2400 block of Fountainview.
The Houston Fire Department didn’t take any chances since the building is a high-rise. They pulled a second alarm and more than 100 firefighters responded to the call.
"My manager came and told us to leave," said Tracy Hader, who works at a law firm. "They said there were reports of smoke."
The small fire was contained within a break room on the 8th floor.
Nobody was hurt.
