HOUSTON -- Rain chances increase starting at midnight and will continue through Saturday afternoon, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.

The coastal counties have the best chance to see rain between midnight and 6 a.m. Saturday. For the rest of the Houston area, scattered showers will last through noon and the showers will back off as we get into the late afternoon and evening.

Texans tailgaters should pack an umbrella because it’ll be wet and chilly. Highs are expected to be in the mid-50s on Saturday.

On Sunday and Monday, sunshine returns to the area with temps in the low 60s.

There’s a chance for severe weather on Tuesday. KHOU 11 News is tracking the storms that will bring rain and possibly a round of thunderstorms.
