HOUSTON -– Wednesday afternoon brings a shift in the winds that will mean warmer afternoons for the next several days, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

Winds from the southeast will increase humidity and cause warmer temperatures across the Houston area. This afternoon we’ll top out near 70 degrees.

Thursday morning's temperatures will be in the low-50s, compared to the upper-30s of recent days. The afternoon will be warmer as well, still under sunny skies.

On Friday the clouds return with a chance for rain through the weekend.

Right now it looks like Saturday and Sunday's chance of rain stands at 30-percent. By Monday, our afternoon temps will top out at 80 degrees.
