HOUSTON – Only scattered showers were spotted in the early hours Monday, but the rain was expected to pick up closer to lunchtime, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said.
There is a 50-percent chance of rain Monday with a high temperature of 92 degrees.
“We’re going to see showers popping up all over the place, especially when we get a little daytime heating,” said Paul. “Heavy rain could cause some street flooding in spots.”
Wind gusts will reach 30-40mph, and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning is possible.
Our rain chances will dwindle to 20 percent later in the week. Temps will reach 94 degrees heading into the weekend.
