Houston forecast: Rainy New Year’s Eve

HOUSTON -- Rainy conditions will continue throughout Monday night and into New Year’s Day, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.

The temps increased from the 50s at noon, to the 60s early Monday evening. There’s a 90 percent chance of rain going into midnight.

From 8 p.m. - 10 p.m. heavy rain could develop to the west of Houston, but there is no threat of severe weather. In the Houston area, the best chance for rain is between midnight at 4 a.m. Some areas could get two or three inches of rain.

You can expect bad visibility and slow-moving driving conditions all New Year’s Eve.

On Tuesday, the rainy conditions will to continue and highs will only reach the 50s.
