HOUSTON – Wednesday will be another steamy hot late August day for the Houston area, but we are facing increasing chances of rain due to Hurricane Isaac, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul.

The day will begin with lows in the upper 70s; highs will peak around 96 degrees.

Paul said there wasa 30-percent chance of rain Wednesday, especially in areas to the east of Houston that are closer to Louisiana. The rain chance drops to 20 percent Thursday, although the seven-day forecast shows rain is possible through the end of the week.

Afternoon high temperatures will remain in the mid-90s.

Meanwhile, Isaac made landfall as a category 1 hurricane around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday in southeast Louisiana with winds near 80 mph. The storm then stalled out, briefly going back off the coast before making a second landfall and moving inland again early Wednesday morning. Isaac's forecast track has it moving north-northwest through the state of Louisiana.
