HOUSTON – Heading out the door early this morning you could already feel the effects of a cool front moving through southeast Texas, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

The cool temps felt even lower due to a slight wind chill factor.

“Grab the jackets because you’re going to be surprised by how cool these temperatures stay throughout the day,” said Johnson. “These temperatures are going to continue to drop into the upper-50s and low-60s by lunchtime.”

The forecast high Friday is only 64 degrees, which is below average for this time of year. There's a 20-percent chance of rain.

Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy with overnight lows around 50-degrees and daytime highs in the mid-60s.

The cooler temps hang around into next week but will rise into the mid-70s by Wednesday.
