HOUSTON -- Clear skies will return to Houston on Friday afternoon, setting us up for a chilly evening and a beautiful weekend, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.

“Within the next few hours, most of the Houston metro area will be basked with sunshine,” said Gomez. “For most of the morning, most of the Gulf Coast was shrouded in cloud cover.”

This afternoon we’ll top out around 63 degrees.

Overnight into early Saturday morning, our temperatures will drop to the low-40s. Saturday afternoon will be sunny and in the low-70s.

Sunday and Monday will be warmer with temperatures near 80 degrees under sunny skies.

A big chance for rain returns on Tuesday along with a cool-down. By Wednesday our daytime temps will drop back into the low-70s.
