HOUSTON – Houston police arrested a city inspector accused of accepting bribes.
The HPD Major Offenders Department launched an investigation after receiving information that a city inspector may have been accepting bribes.
When officers showed up Wednesday at 8700 Holt in Southeast Houston, they said they observed Robert Campbell accepting $350 in cash and promising that no inspector would be around for the next two weeks.
Officers arrested Campbell after he drove away from the work site.
He was being held on $30,000 bond.
Court records reveal Campbell has a lengthy criminal record.
