HOUSTON – A Houston chef is one of Food & Wine magazine’s picks for best new chefs in America 2013.
Underbelly Chef Chris Shepherd, and nine other chefs across the country, gained the title after a month-long selection process where the magazine editors solicited nominations from restaurant critics and food writers.
“With a 25-year perspective on the awards, it’s clear that these talented cooks have a brilliant future ahead of them. I can’t wait to see where they’ll go and what they’ll cook,” Food & Wine Editor in Cheif Dana Cowin said in a news release announcing the winners.
Shephard and the other 2013 honorees will be featured in the July issue of Food & Wine.
