HOUSTON—Great food and great deals are on the menu as Houston Restaurant Weeks begins its month-long run for charity.
Houston Restaurant Weeks 2011 takes place from August 1 through 31.
This year, more than 125 restaurants are participating.
Restaurants will offer a three-course dinner for $35 a person and will donate $5 from each meal to the Houston Food Bank. Some restaurants will be offering a two-course lunch for $20. A total of $3 from each meal will go to charity.
Last year’s event raised more than $570,000 which allowed for nearly 1.75 million meals for the hungry.
Since 2003, the event has raised over $900,000 for the Houston Food Bank.
