HOUSTON -- It will be windy and cool Wednesday evening before a big drop into the temperatures heading into Thursday morning, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

The record low for Houston today is 49 degrees and it was set in 1890.

"We will tie or potentially break a 124-year-old record," said Garner.

Early Thursday, temperatures will drop into the upper-40s and low-50s, possibly breaking records for this time of year in Southeast Texas. It will be sunnier with daytime highs in the upper-70s Thursday afternoon.

The nice weather carries over into Friday and Saturday as our daytime temps start to climb back into the 80s.

By Sunday we’ll be approaching 90 degrees once again as humidity returns to the Gulf Coast.

There’s no significant chance for rain in the 7-day forecast.
