HOUSTON – Rudolf and the other reindeer should not have any problems moving through the area on Christmas Eve, but getting out will be a different story, KHOU 11 Meteorologist David Paul said.

The weather Monday evening should be breezy and mild after temperatures peaked in the mid-70s this afternoon.

After midnight it is a different story as a cold front makes its way through Houston bringing severe weather with it and an 80 percent chance of rain for Christmas Day morning.

By Wednesday, we will have mostly sunny skies once again, but our temperatures will be much cooler. Early in the morning we will be in the low-30s, and we will only top out at about 50 degrees in the afternoon.

Thursday’s weather will be pleasant but a few degrees warmer. By Friday we will have another chance for rain.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everyone!
