HOUSTON – Scattered downpours will continue to move inland off the coast into southeast Texas heading into our evening hours Monday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

“Most of this rainfall is happening over the Gulf of Mexico, but there are indications we’ll continue to get a lot of this moisture on land later this afternoon,” said Garner.

There’s a 60-percent chance for rain Monday, but the rain chances start to dwindle in our overnight hours.

On Tuesday there’s only a 30-percent chance for rain, and the daytime temps will be back in the 90s.

The sun returns for the rest of this week, and by the weekend we could be looking at afternoon temperatures near 100 degrees.

We are still keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Fernand, which will make landfall in Mexico. The storm is not a threat to Texas.
