HOUSTON — It will be a cool and cloudy Friday as our weekend gets underway. There will be a bit of rain Saturday, but not until later in the evening so you can still get some fun in, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
Friday kicked off with lows in the 50s and highs are expected to top off near 70 degrees. Today will be partly cloudy as we prepare for the weekend rain to move in.
Throughout the day expect to see increasing moisture out of the Gulf and that will add cloud cover.
The storm predictions have the Houston area under a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for Saturday, with the best chance for rain coming late in the afternoon.
Saturday will see lows in the upper-50s, highs in the lower 70s and a 50-percent chance for rain. Rain chances decrease to 30 percent on Sunday, with temperatures remaining in the 60s all day.
Some allergy sufferers are going to have it a bit rough Friday because the tree pollen levels are extreme, but grass pollen and mold spores are low.
Next week is looking nice and clear with rising temps into the mid-70s by Wednesday.
