HOUSTON – Wednesday evening will make for another muggy night with isolated showers disappearing in the Houston area, but big changes are expected in the coming days, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

Temps will dip to the mid-70s Wednesday evening and overnight.

On Thursday, the rain chance jumps to 40 percent with a forecast high of 91 degrees.

Extra moisture is expected to come in off the gulf as a tropical disturbance collides with a cool front over southeast Texas.

“By Friday is when we’ll really start getting into the rain chances,” said Garner. “It all starts in the morning and it continues into the middle of the day and into the evening. That is a sight for sore eyes in a drought-stricken region.”

There’s an 80-percent chance for rain Friday and a 60-percent chance on Saturday. Sunday the rain chance drops back down to zero.

Daytime highs over the weekend are expected to only reach the mid-80s with overnight lows in the upper-60s as the skies clear out early next week.
