HOUSTON – Do not expect any relief soon from this weekend’s record heat as temperatures are expected to peak in the upper-90s on Sunday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
A weak front moving through overnight will bring little to no rain to the Houston area. The front will shift winds north and leave us sitting pretty dry.
There will be a high of 99 degrees Sunday afternoon.
Starting on Monday, the daytime temperatures drop even more into the lower-90s. Rain returns to the forecast on Wednesday and Thursday, but our real chance for rain comes Friday.
