HOUSTON – The warm weather will move closer to a record temperature on Monday while isolated showers continue to provide rain to the areas west of the city, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson said.

Communities west of I-45 like Alvin and Manvel will still see a 30 percent of rain with some light showers.

At lunchtime, the high was 77 and it is expected to increase to 83, just a few degrees shy of the record for the day at 85.

The spring-like temperatures will not be around for long as a cold front from the northwest arrives late Tuesday evening bringing temperatures back down the average for this time of year.
