HOUSTON -- There's another chance for rain and storms Friday evening, although around lunchtime it was still mostly quiet around town, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 7:45 p.m. for Fort Bend County.
Any storms should clear out in time for Friday night's fireworks shows, but there is still a 20-percent rain chance until 8 p.m.
A slight rain chance lingers through the weekend and into next week with daytime temps in the low- to mid-90s and overnight lows in the mid- to upper-70s.
Looking to the tropics, Hurricane Arthur is making its way back out to sea after making landfall overnight in North Carolina. It dropped several inches of rain before moving back to sea. It’s expected to stay close to the East Coast but will not make landfall again.
