HOUSTON — The Houston area will endure “bitter cold” air for at least the next seven days, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.
There is a Winter Weather Advisory for the communities northwest of the KHOU 11 viewing area with the chance of slick, freezing rain overnight. Drivers should be careful with light icing on bridges.
Overnight temps will drop down the upper-30s for most of the Houston area. Some communities farther north like Huntsville could see temps dip into the 20s.
Saturday morning temps kick off in the lower-30s and there is a forecast high of 39 degrees with a 40-percent rain chance.
"For the moment, our chances for ice look very much slim to almost none," Paul said.
It is going to get colder going into next week as the Houston area wakes up to temps in the low-40s.
For the next several days our overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s and our afternoon highs won’t be much warmer.
