HOUSTON – Mother Nature will close out the first day of the New Year with a very cold evening as temperatures drop back down into the mid-30s Tuesday night.
KHOU 11 News Meteorologist David Paul said that if you plan to be out this evening to take a coat as the temperature falls into the low-40s. Later overnight, temperatures will dip into the 30s for most of the area.
Tuesday got off to a soggy start with part of the Houston area receiving anywhere from .5-1.5 inches of rain. Galveston County received the most rainfall at 3.5-4 inches.
There will still be some isolated showers Wednesday with a 20 percent chance of rain.
