HOUSTON – New Year’s evening in southeast Texas will be cool and cloudy with a chance for rain, according to KHOU 11 News Chief Meteorologist David Paul.

"We should have some rain along the coast Wednesday afternoon, and then it will push inland closer to the city by the evening hours," Paul said.

A cold front moves in tonight and temperatures will drop to the mid-50s overnight.

On Thursday the clouds break apart a little with early morning temperatures in the 40s and daytime temps in the low-50s.

This weekend will start off sunny, but clouds and a slight chance for rain return by Sunday.

The temperatures drop early next week with overnight lows in the 30s.
