HOUSTON – New Year’s afternoon in southeast Texas will be cool and cloudy with a chance for rain, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez.
There’s a 30-percent chance for rain this afternoon with a forecast high of 62 degrees.
"We should have some rain along the coast early this afternoon, and then it will push inland closer to the city by the evening hours," said Gomez.
On Thursday the clouds break apart a little with early morning temperatures in the 40s and daytime temps in the low-50s.
This weekend will start off sunny, but clouds and a slight chance for rain return by Sunday.
The temperatures drop early next week with overnight lows in the 30s.
