HOUSTON – The clouds have already started to roll into the Houston-area Saturday morning as sunshine is hard to find across much of the state, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Mario Gomez said.
Mardi Gras weekend is setting up to be a rainy holiday with a 20 percent chance of rain Saturday evening and a 50 percent chance of rain Sunday afternoon.
The cloud coverage is sure to affect the temperature with the high topping out at 68 later today.
On Sunday, a front approaches, and by noon we’ll have scattered showers—especially in areas north of I-10 where there’s a 50-percent chance for storms. Sunday evening we’ll be on the severe weather watch as the storms are expected to continue throughout the night.
The cold weather returns next week. Highs will be in the 60’s, and the lows will be in the 30’s beginning on Wednesday.
