HOUSTON – Enjoy your day because we have another chilly, but sunny day in the Houston area Monday, KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner said.
“These are the shortest days of the year. So the sunshine is nice and warm. Here we are at relatively southern latitude enjoying it while the rest of the country is remaining in a deep freeze, especially in the northeast today,” said Garner.
Despite the chilly morning, highs are expected to warm up to the mid- to low- 60s this afternoon and a warming trend will kick in over the next couple of days, reaching the 70s by Wednesday.
The skies will be sunny and clear until Friday when a 40-percent chance for rain creeps into the forecast.
A cold front scheduled to arrive next weekend could make for some chilly weather for the holiday week.
