HOUSTON — With the arrival of a cold front and scattered showers, the Houston area will endure “bitter cold” air for at least the next seven days, according to KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Brooks Garner.

Friday will be colder than Thursday as the chance for rain jumps to 50 percent. Highs will peak at 40 this afternoon.

There is a Winter Weather Advisory for the communities northwest of the KHOU 11 viewing area with the chance of slick freezing rain overnight.

It is going to get colder going into next week as the Houston area wakes up to temps in the low-40s.

For the next several days our overnight lows will be in the 30s and 40s and our afternoon highs won’t be much warmer.

The chance for rain lasts through the weekend and for the start of your next workweek.
